Oak Ridge
Cooperative School
This was the lengthiest branding project to date, with many more deliverables then is normal for an assignment. It involved rebranding the real school of Montclair Cooperative School as Oak Ridge. The deliverables included:
Logo
Letterhead
Envelope
Business Card
Viewbook
Brand Book Microsite
The logo was the first of the deliverables I did, and was a helpful way for me to explore the possibilities of the new brand.
The next product that was worked on was the letterhead, which gave me a chance to explore different ways to incorporate the logo’s graphic into logo-less contexts.
The envelope was the next step, and I chose to construct one myself, by printing directly on rough craft paper and making a side-loading envelope. This was done to give the envelope a tactile feel, and give it a higher value for the receiver, since in this instance it would contain an acceptance letter.
The final stationery piece was a business card that included a hypothetical board members’ contact information. These cards were constructed with rounded corners meant to echo the logos’ edges.
The final physical piece that was needed was a Viewbook. The viewbook serves as both an easy source of information for parents of prospective students, and a person’s first exposure to the school’s brand. Therefore there must be a certain amount of appealing organization along with a strong sense of self.
The biggest part of this project was the Brandbook. This is a staple of many companies that have a strict set of rules to adhere to, and sources like this help employees to stick to that brand. It is a small website that was prototyped in Adobe XD, and can viewed through this link.
